The Moving More recruitment slide: four colourful panels explaining the study, under the Moving More logo

The study

Salaso Moving More was a research study run by a team at Bangor University. It tested a remote exercise programme, delivered entirely online through a platform called Salaso, for people already enrolled in the KindEating programme. Participants were assigned by chance to an exercise group or a comparison group, and both had their fitness and health measured from home.

The challenge

Everything about the study happens at a distance. Participants were recruited online, received their equipment in the post, and completed questionnaires and fitness tests over a video call. So the materials had to do the job a friendly researcher would do in person: welcome people, explain each step, and put them at ease about tests that could feel intimidating.

The timetable was tight. The brief covered a study identity, recruitment materials, and a set of booklets and leaflets for each stage and each group in the study, scheduled in three waves over four months.

What we made

We designed the whole visual identity, then applied it to everything a participant would see.

A logo people could warm to. A figure exercising in front of a phone, with a group of people in a speech bubble. It says what the study is – moving more, together, remotely – without a word, and the colours stay friendly and never clinical.

Recruitment materials. A tall infographic and a presentation slide answering the questions a prospective participant asks: would this help me, what will I have to do, and am I eligible?

An information pack for people who had signed up. Eighteen pages that walk through what happens next: questionnaires, the activity tracker, the exercise tests, safety information, and answers to common questions. The tone is plain and encouraging, and every page carries the same warm, colourful design.

The outcome

A consistent, friendly identity that ran across every recruitment and participant document, so people at every stage of the study met the same look and the same welcoming voice.
