A decade alongside Scotland's marine science alliance
The Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland: a seventeen-institution research consortium whose website has grown with it since 2015 – through a brand refresh we designed, event ticketing, and a 10,000-strong newsletter.

The alliance
MASTS brings together seventeen Scottish institutions working in marine science. It runs events, a graduate school, and a large member community, and its website is where all of that meets.
Growing with the organisation
We built the MASTS site in 2015 and have run it ever since. Over that decade the brief has changed more than once, and the site has changed with it rather than being thrown away and rebuilt.
When the alliance needed a refreshed identity, we designed the brand update and carried it through the site. When the Annual Science Meeting needed a better way to handle registrations, we built event ticketing and management into the site itself. And the alliance’s newsletter to more than 10,000 subscribers is built into the same WordPress site its team already uses every day.
The outcome
One site, one login, and one team that knows it inside out – a website that has kept pace with the organisation for ten years without starting again.
